Microneedle Radiofrequency For Scars and Skin Tightening

What is it?

Microneedling Radiofrequency is a dermaroller procedure that uses small needles to prick the skin. The main aim of this treatment is the generation of new collagen and skin tissue for a smoother, firmer, and more toned skin. It is mostly used on the face and may treat various scars, wrinkles, and large pores.

It can be used to improve the following conditions,

  • Mild to moderate laxity of skin
  • Wrinkles and fine lines
  • Rough leathery skin texture
  • Acne and other scars
  • Enlarged Pores
  • Excess sebum production
  • Stretch marks

The following are not considered for this treatment:

  • Pregnant Mothers
  • Patients with certain skin diseases such as psoriasis or eczema
  • Patients with open wounds
  • Patients who might have had radiation therapy recently

Procedure

During the procedure, the doctor will make small pricks under the skin with a pen-like tool. The tool will then be moved evenly across the skin so that the new skin that is rejuvenated will be even too.
Before getting started, the doctor will recommend the use of a topical anesthetic to reduce the chances of pain. This is done usually about an hour before the treatment procedure. Serum or calming treatment might be applied.
The patient might observe skin irritation and redness within the first few days following the procedure. This is a natural response to the small “injuries” made by the needles in the skin. After microneedling, the skin will work fairly quickly to rejuvenate new tissue.
